DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 923, 23J, 10S, 14K gold OF original Hamilton case with fancy initials to rear, gold cuvette engraved "Presented to Earl C. Pender by The West Steel Casting Co. in appreciation of twenty-five years of Loyal and Efficient Service 1912-1938," silvered dial with applied gold numerals marked with gold foil "Globe" logo above "Twenty-Five Years Service Hamilton" marking, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, jeweled barrel arbor, bull's-eye pattern nickel damascene, s#R2288. Gross weight of assembled watch 36.8 dwt (57.3 g). An attractive top grade presentation piece.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, some oxide to regulator spring and in few small bits to smaller winding wheel; virtually flawless dial with only some light edge rub under bezel; excellent hands, minute with some crimping; case shows very little wear, some scuffing to cuvette near lip, scattered dings to rear, prominent dent to band at 2, excellent engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
